Will we ever play this campaign again?

Or is it truly dead thanks to 4th Edition? Do you find this valuable?

What? Didn't Chris send you the newsletter? You're Gamma World concept is the new de facto Savage Worlds setting. :) 1  out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?

It's not dead, it's on hold until I'm free to run games regularly. I liked SW for some things, not so much for others. I'm going to give 4e a try and see if it fits. If not, I'll probably keep looking for a system until I find the one that works the best. Do you find this valuable?

What I don't like:
It's hard to judge encounter difficulty and there aren't any guidelines for it.
It doesn't have incremental bumps like D&D, and a dungeon crawl type game is all about the little bits of treasure, gear and magic items.
Nobody has the book except for me and you, so shopping, advancement and tweaking tends to happen at the table.

What I like:
Flexible.
Relatively simple.
Easy to make bad guys.

I bought the book, too. Did I just throw my ten bucks away?

So, there's this other group of guys I play with. Toren can attest to this, since we play at his house a lot. We use rules that totally fucking suck. But, see, we do this real important thing - we just keep showing up every week and playing. Never mind how the rules are working, we just keep playing.

And aren't you already playing 4e? What more do you need to know about it?

If Chris is playing in a 4th edition game, then lightning is going to strike. I've been trying to recruit him into three different games!

I would say you didn't throw 10 bucks away. Toren is a big fan of a Savage Worlds. I sent him a 60 page Gamma World conversion for Savage Worlds recently which he is likely to run after the Freeport campaign.

I dropped out of the 4e game. I don't really have time for more than one game a week right now, unfortunately.

Which is also why we haven't played a lot of Savage Lands lately. My bad. After Toren's Freeport game is done, I'll reconnoiter.

Anyway, I don't think Savage Worlds is a bad system, I just don't think it's great for what I'm trying to do with this game.
