Create a character page:- To get started, type your character's name into the box that says "Search this wiki" in the sidebar.
- The wiki will ask you if you'd like to create the page (unless someone already took the name). Click the "create" link.
- Choose the "Savage Worlds PC" template from the drop down.
- Click the "EasyEdit" button and start typing!
Normal method:- Pick a race. Humans get one free Edge.
- Attributes start at d4. Raising a die type costs 1 point. You have 5 points.
- 15 points for skills. Opening a skill at d4 is 1 point and 1 point up to the linked attribute. After that it's 2 points per die type. We don't use the Guts skill.
- Charisma is 0 + Edges or Hindrances.
- Pace is 6, modified by race, Edges and Hindrances
- Parry is 2 + 1/2 Fighting skill.
- Toughness is 2 + 1/2 Vigor + armor.
- You may take up to 2 Minor AND 1 Major Hindrance. Each Minor gives you 1 point to spend, Major 2.
- For 2 points: gain another attribute point or take another Edge.
- For 1 point: gain another skill point or double starting funds.
- Starting gold is 500, buy gear at Ye Olde Shoppe.
Follow the instructions in
Savage Worlds: Explorer's Edition* or in the
Test Drive rules. Fantasy races, professional edges (ie classes) and other goodies are in the
Wizards and Warriors (this link appears to be blind) supplement. Also check out the SW
Combat Survival Guide.
Wicked Fast Method:If you don't have time to read things like "rules" and "words", this pdf will let you checkbox your way to a PC in five minutes flat:
convention character creation guide.
* If you have the Core Rules Revised, here's a
forum thread with all the changes between the editions. SW:EX supersedes previous editions of the rules.
There are tons of free conversions at
Savage Heroes, and probably some more at the
Savage Worlds site, if you don't see something you need.
